As of March 1, 2023, Gerald Matz has been appointed as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing.

The IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing is the premiere journal on signal processing published by the Signal Processing Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

The journal publishes significant contributions to signal processing, covering novel theory, algorithms, performance analyses and applications of techniques for the processing, understanding, learning, retrieval, mining, and extraction of information from signals. The term “signal” includes audio, video, speech, image, communication, geophysical, sonar, radar, medical and musical data. Topics of interest include information processing and the filtering, coding, transmission, estimation, detection, analysis, synthesis, recording, and reproduction of signals.
