Biography

Driton Statovci received the ‘Inxh. i dipl.’ degree (equivalent to a master’s degree) in the field of Telecommunications and Informatics from University of Prishtina, Prishtina, Kosova in 1996 and the Dr. techn. degree in the field of Telecommunications from Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria, in 2005.

From 1996 to 1997 he worked at Electrical Engineering Professional School “Gjin Gazulli”, Prishtina, Kosova, where he taught different subjects in the field of telecommunications. From 2000 to 2002 he worked at Ahead Communications Systems AG as a design engineer and project manager, where he designed and implemented communication systems for transmitting data and voice over digital subscriber line (DSL) access networks. From 2002 to 2015 he worked at FTW Telecommunications Research Center Vienna (ger. FTW Forschungszentrum Telekommunikation Wien) in the field of signal and information processing for wireline communications, where he held different positions such as Researcher (until 2005), Senior Research (from 2005), Project Manager (from 2009), and Wireline Communication group leader (from 2011).

In 2015 Driton Statovci joined the Institute of Telecommunications at Vienna University of Technology and currently he is working as Project Assistant in the field of DSL.

  • Interference mitigation and cancellation in DSL systems,
  • DSL channel modeling and characterization,
  • Narrowband and broadband power line communication (PLC) systems, and
  • Application of optimization techniques in DSL and PLC systems.
