Advanced Inductive Coupling


In the research project “Advanced Inductive Coupling (AIC)”, we optimize inductive coupling coils for High-Frequency Radio Frequency Identification (HF RFID) tags as well as investigate an innovative metal frame solution for such HF RFID coupling. Further, a novel method for PICC chip characterization will be developed and we analyze the HF RFID load modulation. Finally, we propose, design, and optimize a combined HF and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) tag antenna solution for dual frequency operation at the HF band (13.56 MHz) and UHF band (860 MHz to 960 MHz).


The industrial research partner in the project is NXP Semiconductors Austria GmbH Styria.
