Prof. Václav Hlaváč, Czech Technical University, Prague (CTU)

“Autonomous robotics research”

He will introduce the academic research in autonomous robotics in my Robotics Perception group in the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics at the Czech Technical University in Prague.

The focus will be given to three European Commission funded projects. TRADR project (Long-Term Human-Robot Teaming for Robot Assisted Disaster Response). It will be shown how mixed human/robot teams can contribute to disaster response. TRADR mission to the Italian town Amatrice damaged by the earthquake from Sept. 1, 2016 will be given as the example. The second CloPeMa (Clothes Perception and Manipulation) managed to fold/unfold garments. The third project UP-Drive, Automated Urban Parking and Driving deals with a self-driving car.

The institution of the speaker, the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of CTU in Prague has a leading role in the Czech governmental initiative Industry 4.0. The links between mentioned project and Industry 4.0 will be mentioned too.
