Femtocells: MIMO setting

    Dear The Vienna Team,

    I run LTE_sim_main_launcher_demo_femtocells.m with the configuration as follows:

    LTE_config.nTX = 4;
    LTE_config.nRX = 4;
    LTE_config.tx_mode = 4;
    LTE_config.channel_model.type = ‘TU’;
    LTE_config.shadow_fading_type = ‘none’;

    There were errors:

    TTI 4/50: *****+++++….In an assignment A(:) = B, the number of elements in A and B must be the same.

    Error in network_elements.UE/link_performance_model (line 1300)
    [TB_SINR_dB(cw_)] = obj.SINR_averager.average(SINR_dB(layers_cw,:),TB_CQI(cw_),true);

    Error in LTE_sim_main (line 479)
    UEs(u_).link_performance_model;

    For 1*1 (Mode 1) and 2*2 (CLSM), there is no problem with this script. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

    Dear Nakrop,

    Thanks for the bug report. There was a bug when calculating the average SINR. You can download the updated version of the simulator.

    Dears,
    when I try to run the LTE_sim_main_launcher_demo_femtocells.m, I get the following errors.

    Error using channel_gain_wrappers.winnerChannelFactory.prepare_winner_channel_model_path (line 51)
    Please download the Winner+ II channel model from
    http://projects.celtic-initiative.org/winner+/phase_2_model.html and extract it into the “./Winner
    Channel Model” folder

    Error in LTE_load_params_dependant (line 623)
    channel_gain_wrappers.winnerChannelFactory.prepare_winner_channel_model_path(winner_model_path);
    % Add winner channel model path to the Matlab path

    Error in LTE_sim_main (line 30)
    LTE_config = LTE_load_params_dependant(LTE_config);

    Error in LTE_sim_main_launcher_demo_femtocells (line 42)
    output_results_file = LTE_sim_main(LTE_config);

    can anyone help me to fix this.

    Dear Adel,

    Your launcher file is using the WINNER channel model. The WINNER model is not part of our simulator but an interface that integrates it, is implemeted. You just have to follow the instructions to download the WINNER channel model and put the files into the corresponding folder and it will work. Note that currently the WINNER is not supported by the newest MATLAB versions, it should work with Matlab2014 or older.

    Can we use WINNER II Channel Model for Communications System Toolbox provided by MathWorks?

    Dear Fjolla,

    I’m running a simulation with CLSM, 4*4, similar to the one up here, but with the 3D channel model and shadow fading (while the one reported is ‘TU’ channel and no SF). The error is below (after the dashes). In response, you said it was a bug in the code and advised that simulator be re-downloaded. That was in April 2017.

    I got the Simulator with 3D channel in Jan. 2017, so probably the bug hasn’t been fixed then. Do I have to re-download the Simulator or how do I fix this bug?

    Dear Sherif,

    You can either re-dwonload the simulator, the fux has already been fixed, or just apply the following expression into the +utils/miesmAveragerFast.m

    line 170: effective_SINR_dB = 10*log10(mean(mean((10.^(SINR_vector_dB/10))))); -> you have to take twice the mean of SINR_vector

    Dear Sakamoto,

    Our simulator provides the interface that makes it possible to perform simulations using the winner channel model, latest version known as WINNER II. Note however that the latest code of the winner is from 2007 and thus it doesn’t work with latest Matlab verions 2016/17.

    WINNER+ is a proposal to extend the current WINNER II version with new features such as relaying, larger bandwidth but it was never published in the respective web-page.
