    Dear Dr. Martin,

Lately I’ve been wondering whether or not it’s possible to use this simulator as an LTE simulator instead of as LTE-A. Is there any way in which that could be done? More specifically when it comes to the 3D model simulator.

Thank you for your attention, and sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best regards,
    Oscar

    Dear Oscar,

The difference between LTE (3GPP release 9, 10, 11) and LTE Advance (LTE-A) (release 12) is that LTE-A is upgraded with some new advanced features such as Carrier Aggregation, … However, you can still use this simulator to simulate your idea with the old features supported.

    Dear Oscar,

the 3D model is a channel model that applies for both LTE- and LTE-A transmissions. I agree with LeHung that in the simulator, LTE-A is represented by a set of advanced features, which you could apply or not.

    Best regards,
    Martin.
