MATLAB Toolboxes needed !!

    Hi,

    Could you kindly let us know the full list of MATLAB toolboxes required to execute simulator_launcher files (Vienna_DL_LLS simulator)

    Website says, we only need.
    MATLAB 7.8.0 (R2009a)
    Statistics toolbox

    Is that ‘symbolic toolbox’ – sym(), solve() & ‘optimization toolbox’ are also required to execute these files ?

    Dear Shekar,

    for general purpose simulations, these toolboxes should not be required; just for some special algorithms and models that are not standardized. E.g. if you activated the ‘ePDP’ channel model, the toolboxes will be required.

    Please provide a few more details where exactly the problems occur. Then we can give you more detailed advice.

    Thank you for the response,

    After your input, was able to trace the configuration parameter LTE_params.feedback.codebook set to RANDOM_MIMO, would require symbolic toolbox.

    Thanks for figuring that out. The reason for this is the function “sym_solve” in channel_quantizers.LTE_MIMO_Grassmann_pred_fs. The object channel_quantizers.LTE_MIMO_Grassmann_pred_fs is utililzed for predictive Grassmannian quantization, which is a method I have proposed during my PhD time.

    You can deactivate this by setting LTE_params.feedback.codebook = ‘PERFECT’; in LTE_load_advanced_parameters.m. This would imply that perfect channel state information at the transmitter is considered in case of zero-forcing/block-diagonalization based multi-user transmission.
